Privacy notice
What this site collects, why, where it is kept and for how long, and how to make us stop or forget. Version of 10 Oct 2026.
- Who we are
- Keel runs keelregistry.com and is the data fiduciary for what you give us here. Write to desk@keelregistry.com.
- What we collect on this site, and why
- When you place an order: your name, firm, e-mail, phone, state, the order details you choose (number of companies, import method and timing, the tools you use now), and optionally your membership number, GSTIN, billing address and message, to fulfil the order, issue the invoice and keep tax records. If you arrived through a link carrying a source tag, the tag is kept with the order. When you ask for a talk: your name, organisation, e-mail and optional phone, to reply. When you ask us to e-mail a hash value: your e-mail, the value, the file name, its size and the time; the file itself never leaves your browser. When you apply for a founding place or request the handbook: what the form asks, to reply and send it. We also record when a letter offering a place is first opened and how often, and how often a handbook download link is used.
- Follow-up e-mails need your consent
- We send follow-up e-mails on a topic only if you ticked the box for that topic. The box is never ticked for you. Orders, handbook requests, talk requests and hash-value e-mails work without it; a sign-up whose only purpose is follow-up e-mails needs it. We record your e-mail, the topic, the page you agreed on, the version of this notice and when you agreed. Every follow-up has a one-click link to stop; you can also write to us.
- What we do not collect
- Keel sets no cookies on the public site. If you choose to pay online, Razorpay's checkout opens and works under Razorpay's own terms. No advertising or analytics companies are loaded. We count page views and a few actions (such as "opened the sample company") as daily totals by page, and the totals hold no IP address, no identifier and nothing that could single you out. To slow down abuse, our server keeps a salted hash of the sender's IP address for every form, page count and tool request it receives, for two hours, then deletes it.
- The tools
- The Fingerprint tool, the sample company, the INC-20A calculator and the register health check run in your browser. The compliance calendar sends the facts you type to our server to compute the dates and does not store them. The public check of an extract sends only the reference you type to Keel's ledger.
- Where it is stored
- Data from this site and firm data in Keel are stored in Singapore. A move to India is planned for December 2026. E-mail is sent through an e-mail relay. Payments, if you pay online, are handled by Razorpay: we pass it your name, e-mail, phone, firm and the order amount, and card and bank details go to Razorpay, never to us.
- How long we keep it
- Orders and invoices: until the end of the eighth financial year after the year of the order, longer while a tax proceeding about them is open, then erased. Enquiries, founding applications, the letters offering a founding place, and handbook requests: up to 24 months. A log of e-mails sent (address, subject, time): 12 months. Consent records: while you are subscribed, and for 24 months after you withdraw, to show what you agreed to. Daily page totals: 36 months.
- Your rights
- Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, withdraw consent at any time, nominate someone to act for you, and complain to us. If we do not resolve a complaint, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
- Grievances
- The Keel desk, desk@keelregistry.com. We acknowledge within two working days and resolve within the period the DPDP Rules set.
- The desk
- Keel's own staff sign in to an admin desk at /admin. Their session token is kept in their browser's session storage and cleared when the tab closes. Visitors are never asked to sign in.
- Children
- Keel's services are for professionals and companies. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone under 18.
- Changes to this notice
- When this notice changes, the version date at the top changes and the change is listed on the Changes page.
